look at these quotes, comment the ones you want with your classmates.
Writing
You have to write about the best concert you've ever been to.
In this post, include:
Who the artist was
When and where this happened
What it was like (describe it using different descriptions)
How it made you feel
Why you liked it-Why you remember this so much
Word count: 170 words.
Comment on my post first
Then comment on 3 of your classmates’ posts as well.
All of this must be done during this session.
(It’s recommendable that you write your text on a word doc before you post it so as to avoid losing information)
You can use an online dictionary or ask me for whatever you need. The only thing you can’t do is to use a translator.
Sample post
Once
upon a time, in a galaxy far far away there I was in October, 2006, heading for
a concert of a jazz trio that I didn’t really know that well. I had heard
about it in my favourite Sunday radio programme “Guitarra”, and there was no
way I could have known that I would always remember the name “Uwe Kropinsky”, the guitarrist. Here's a photo of him
The venue was Goethe
Institute, in a small, kind of dark, reddish room. Nothing fancy, on the
contrary, the simplicity of the whole event made it even more impressive. What
I really liked about him was his creativity and dynamism; he didn’t only play
perfectly and passionately, but he also used his body and unexpected items to
complement his music. For example, he wrapped one of his feet with some sort of
dried tree seeds and tapped it to the tune's rhythm, while he also stepped on a tiny plastic
bag, so the sound resembled that of a cymbal. He used his guitar not only as a
string instrument but also as percussion. It came so honest and natural to him
that the small room seemed to grow to the beat of the trio. When I look back I
always get this warm feeling.
It was a beautiful artistic, musical experience, one that
became one of my favourite ones because I felt that music really embraced us
all in that hour and a half in which everybody there shared something really authentic,
original and magic.

listen ;)
Dear students, Since last week you created your blogs and had little time to practise with these writing tasks, this session will help you loosen up a little and start writing more. I. Instructions: Today we'll discuss places, specifically, those that interest us and that we feel we'd like to visit. Choose a town, city, or country you'd like to go to, you should write:
- Why you chose this place (what makes it interesting or special for you)
- What things you would definitely pack with you and why
- What you would do there
Feel free to add any info you would like to share. First read the sample below and leave a comment about it on this post. After that, read and comment on at least 3 of your classmates' posts. Minimum word count 170 Sample: I'd really love to visit Scotland
Most
people enjoy travelling because they can relax and unwind. I myself can relax
at home with my cats, so the reason I’d like to travel somewhere is entirely
different. Of course, Scotland is an exquisite country because of its
landscapes, but what makes Scotland special for me is rthat I’d love to study at the University of
Edinburgh.
Truth to be said, I know very little about the country itself,
but the magnificence of its landscapes plus the grace of that University’s
campuses is what interests me the most.
If I went to Scotland, the three essential items to be
packed would be: a pollaroid camera, because I’d like to be able to take
pictures and keep them close to me immediately; a diary, to write about what I
learn and what I see there everyday, and last but not least, a music player
with my favourite bands.
Additionally,
the activities I’d enjoy most would be to, of course, visit the Edinburgh
Castle!
Additionally,
the activities I’d enjoy most would be to, of course, visit the Edinburgh
Castle! If I could, I’d also like to go to the Royal Botanic Garden, given that
I am a big fan of all that is green.
Finally,
and logically, I’d spend most of my time here:
The University of Edinburgh library! OMG…Now, that’s a
library I could live in!
I'm sure you're not yet wide awake, and neither am I 'cause as I write this it's getting later and later. Anyway, I'm just writing a brief intro for you to get an idea of what we'll do in these sessions.
A) Follow the instructions and create your blog
1. go to: http://www.blogger.com/ and create your blog. If you have a google account: sign in first; if you don’t have a google account: create a google account . Give your blog a cool name, and customise it as you wish.
It's advisable that you select English as the set language and activate the comments option (automatic by default).
2. Link your teacher’s blog and ALL your classmates’ blogs to yours.
3. Write a short introductory/welcome post. (70 words) Say who you are and what objectives you hope to achieve with your blog.
4. You can always personalize your entries (e.g. add a picture, survey, change colour fonts, etc).
B) Alright, now that you've all set, let's do our first writing task.
Before you continue, check this picture:
Have you ever felt like this about summer (or winter) holidays? Comment on this idea with your classmates. What was your last summer like?
After your discussion, read the following text:
I often
feel as if I never have real holidays. There's always something pending, too
much to be done, too many things that have been left aside. Take last summer,
for example. I feel that I didn’t really have a break, even though I actually
went to the beach several times, took like a million walks by the seaside,
visited a friend in Melipilla, went to the oldest cinema ever, (loved it BTW),
went to a sort of a campsite with the coldest spring water pools ever (didn’t
like that very much…but there were lovely duckies and horsies and even a llama,
so that got me convinced!), I even visited the train museum! And yet, dunno why
I still feel that my holidays are like ‘hollow’-days (pun intended). Anyhow,
what would a perfect holiday be like then?
I guess
the first thing you need if you’d like to utterly enjoy your summer is a nice,
big house in the woods. I think a cozy place to rest after a long day is
essential for a perfect holiday. Next, the weather; it should be warm and
sunny. I imagine blue skies and clear clouds. But not boiling hot. A stream
nearby would be nice. And of course, my companion animals have to be there; if
I want to rest and enjoy myself fully, I need them with me. The house should
have an ample room to play some music, and a completely equipped kitchen to
cook something yummy for when the day is done. And garden! If you want to
achieve total relaxation, you need flowers, and petals and grass and all that!
Then, the recipe is almost ready. The last bit for a perfect summer holiday
would be a soft, comfy bed. There’s nothing that beats summer perfection as nap
time!
Now you try. Write about your a
summer holiday you’d like to have
Say:
Where you would like to go/be
What things you consider
essential to make your holiday perfect
Who you’d like to be there with
you
What activities you’d definitely
like to do
Add whatever information you
feel you’d like to add.
Write about 200 words.
Comment on my post
Then comment on 3 of your
classmates’ posts as well.

this session.
